Wood Frame

Finally, I got a pair of glasses. I can see clearly now, the rain is gone… hehe. I’m not really the type to open up about the things I buy that aren’t toys, new territory. These happened to fall in the realm of art, hand crafted of wood mixed with metal. They’re my Shuron styled glasses. Luckily I was able to get these shipped from a great store in Malaysia.

Jarrettsville, MD

24 Miles for fresh bagels.

During the coming hours of Snowmaggedon (yes, that’s what everyone called it) we took a trip to Jarretsville. It’s one of my favorite cities in Maryland. It’s more of a farm setting area, with camping grounds and a lonely mountain. Half way down Jarrettsville Pike we spotted a man fishing, he’s the dot in the distance. It was a beautiful sun setting evening, why not document it?

Oh, we never got our fresh bagels. By the time we got there the bakery was closed.

Nick Drake

The most inspirational artist that blessed me with the songs to keep on going.

“Time has told me
You’re a rare, rare find
A troubled cure
For a troubled mind”
- Nick Drake

I’ve been typing then deleting, typing then deleting, trying to introduce the man who I consider to be my biggest influence musically. From what I’ve read about him Nick Drake lead his life of normalcy, quoted by those closest to him and by those researching him. He was a shy and introspective individual leaving a lasting impression on people he met throughout his lifetime. I wish I could of met him, I wish I could meet the people who knew him best. The song that intrigued me was “Time Has Told Me” from Five Leaves Left.

And time will tell you
To stay by my side
To keep on trying
til theres no more to hide

It were those exact words that eased the troubled mind of mine heartache after heartache. Two simple lines that seemly wrapped up the shell we throw ourselves into. I think the song is beyond wonderful. It crushes my heart wondering where he could of taken himself musically if it wasn’t for his tragic end. To be perfectly honest I, myself am worried about that skulking depression. When the place you write from resides there it’s hard not to bring any part of that back with you. You don’t even notice it’s traveling with you most of the time. The best anyone can do is to not chase the shadows.

I think am two vinyls away and three CDs away before I have the entire Nick Drake collection. I’ll re-edit with pictures once completed.

New Recruits

I picked these up a couple weeks ago. I finally gotten the chance to take a decent picture of them. They’re from Series 19. As much as I love these 100% I think it’s time to move my way up to the 400%. If and when I make it to the 1000%, I think I will welcome the intervention.
